The Rise of the Tamagotchi

After launching in Japan in 1996, the OG virtual pet immediately rose to meteoric popularity and resonated with children and teens growing up in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. I mean, let’s face it, the concept of a virtual pet pulled on the heart strings of both kids AND parents!?
