Tamagotchi certainly turned 2021 into twenty-twenty-FUN with an unparalleled year of exciting new launches and collaborations! Oh, and not to mention, kicking off our celebrations for 25 years as a brand!
It’s been a BIG year, and we couldn’t have done it without our loyal Tama supporters, but before we jump into 2022, let’s take a look back at this whirlwind of a year! Ready to take a trip down memory lane?
New Year, New Tamas!
Tamagotchi kicked off 2021 with more than one way to revamp your style for the new year. Original Tamagotchi introduced five new shells for fans to accessorize with, like the Marble style! Tamagotchi also had anime fans holding their breath like never before with the launch of the Demon Slayer Tamagotchi and announcement of the Evangelion Tamagotchi!
Spring
If 2021 wasn’t already off to a great start, Tamagotchi introduced another collaboration and gave fans a Star Wars™ Day they won’t forget with the teaser announcement of the Star Wars™ R2-D2™ – Tamagotchi! Speaking of unforgettable launches, Tamagotchi also had fans smiling ear-to-ear when the Tamagotchi Pix was announced, the first device to feature a built-in camera!
Summer
Tamagotchi had fans screaming for more than just ice cream when they announced the BT21 Tamagotchi, which quickly got UNISTARS all fired up! Original Tamagotchi launched two new shells, Candy Swirl and Flower Gingham, much to fans’ delight! And to top it all off, fans were finally able to bring home their Tamagotchi Pix Flower and Sky while two new styles were announced for pre-sale, Ocean and Nature!
Fall
Tamagotchi gave fans more devices to FALL in love with when it was announced that Kamen Rider would be getting a commemorative 50th anniversary Tamagotchi! Fans also got a sneak peek of another collaboration in August, the Jujutsu Kaisen Tamagotchi! And in one of the biggest celebrations of the year, Tamagotchi turned 25 and released a limited-edition Original Tamagotchi shell alongside all-new branding to kick off the next quarter!
Winter
The holiday season truly shined a light on how much love Tamagotchi received this year after these new releases were featured on several must-have gift guides and wishlists! Can you believe ALL of this happened in just ONE year? There’s even more exciting announcements yet to come so make sure to stay tuned!
